Architecture & Design
Dream House
Original Size - 24" x 24" | Laser-cut balsa wood, Autocad designed | Guyer High School - Architecture 1 - 2024
In this dream house, I wanted to make the living space the largest area of the home, bringing in light and creating areas for the family to gather.
Open Air Market
University of Arkansas: Advanced Design Camp - 2025
We were tasked with creating an open market space for the community. With an oddly shaped site plan, I wanted to honor the natural landscape and designed buildings with curved exteriors, integrated trees into benches, placed seating areas within the gardens, and incorporated materials that were native to NW Arkansas.
Art
Summer Cherry
Original Size - 6" x 9" | Colored pencil on paper | 2024
Seasonal changes can affect our emotional state. Some people feel sadness in the winter months and some, like me, feel buoyed by the first signs of summer. Playing with shading techniques, I tried to convey the connection between a fresh cherry and the bright hope of summer’s arrrival.
The Underworld
Original Size - 11" x 14" | White charcoal on paper | 2022
We don’t see our skeletons, but they hold us up. Connecting together, they protect us, yet can still be broken. I wanted to illustrate the broken interior self with this realistic sketch.
Kendrick
Original Size - 4" x 4" | Pencil on paper | 2024
This was practice in sketching realistic eyes and trying to capture how emotions can be conveyed and whole conversations can happen through a glance.
Pancakes
Original Size - 11" x 14" | Colored pencil on paper | 2024
When my Dad went out of town, my brother and I were treated to “breakfast for dinner.” Inspired by a photo, I wanted to make a realistic looking stack of pancakes, dripping with syrup and topped with my favorite fruits, the sight of which brings me back to the laughter I shared with my family at that table.
On Top of the World
Original Size - 11" x 14" | Charcoal on paper | 2024
Playing with symmetry and shadow, the top of this piece is a figure from which lines and intricate Celtic knots flow. It illustrates the idea that many of us are filled with contrasting feelings, ideals, and interests that connect the light and dark parts of ourselves.
Basilica
Original Size - 6" x 9" | Pencil on paper | 2024
Taking a day trip to Tuscany while staying in Rome, I was able to see the link between the urban setting and the pastoral one through the architecture. They had similar building techniques and were meticulus in their construction. This sketch was a practice in perspective.
Gelato
Original Size - 11" x 14" | Charcoal and oil pastels on paper | 2025
Food is a way to connect people and culture and spread love. I use the contrast of black and white with pops of color to communicate the pure joy that comes from a visit to an Italian gelateria.
Geometry
Original Size - 11" x 14" | Pencil on paper | 2024
These geometric shapes are one of my often repeated "doodles." I love to play with the depth and shadow while intertwining shapes with and within each other.
Anxiety
Original Size - 8" x 8" | Acrylics, paper, marker, and thread on canvas | 2024
Given artistic freedom for this art exhibition, I wanted to explore the physical respresentation of the inner me. I cut the "heart" out and embroidered a "cage" for protection against further hurt. The butterflies caught in my stomach represented the uneasiness of an anxious mind.
Marcellus
Original Size - 6" x 6" | Pencil on paper | 2025
After reading "Remarkably Bright Creatures," which chronicles the unlikely friendship between a grieving mother and an Octopus and the ways they helped each other heal, I was inspired to bring Marcellus to life as I imagined him.
Kyle
Original Size - 6" x 14" | Oil pastels on paper | 2024
Animals can create safe spaces for people. We see this in therapy dogs in hospitals and equine therapy in treatment centers. My cat, Kyle, always seems to sense when my day is hard and I tried to capture that even a look between an animal and a human can be healing and grounding.
Basil
Original Size - 4" x 6" | Pencil on paper | 2024
This is one of the robot plant cartoons that I dreamed up to play with the idea of nature colliding with techology - in a non-threatening manner.
Oculus
Original Size - 6" x 9" | Pencil and pen on paper | 2024
The Pantheon in Rome is an architectural feat for many reasons, but the intricate brickwork of the Oculus captivated me from the moment I walked in and I had to capture it with this sketch.
The Fifth Option
Original Size - 11" x 14" | Colored pencil & ink on paper | 2023
This piece was created during a time when I felt disconnected and was struggling to find my place. The colorful self-portrait with a pleasant smile was in contrast to my poem about feeling like the 5th option.
